Made just for us by a traditional maker in the Channel Islands, this is the definitive fisherman's garment.

A traditional Gansey with the more popular crew-neck style. Our Gansey is in traditional deep navy with our own signature orange detailing, and our own shoulder patterning.

Knitted from 100% Pure British Wool, spun to the particular specifications required to achieve the unique feel and performance of the traditional Guernsey/Gansey garment.

The factory combines traditional techniques and skills with historic textured patterns and style details, as well as modern equipment for a consistently high quality product. Sewn together with traditional Channel Island skills.

    MEASURING FOR THE BEST FIT:
    • Measure the person while standing with their arm resting by their side.
    • Measure all the way around the chest, with no finger gap behind the tape measure. If you have an even number add 4", and if it's an odd number add 3" (e.g. a 38 inch chest measurement requires a 42" Gansey). This number is your Gansey size (see chart).
      This can be matched to the sizes given in the chart below.
    • To check the length, measure from the middle of the shoulder to the point you want the garment to finish (normally the middle of the buttock).
    • To check the sleeve, measure from the middle of the neck, over the shoulder tip and down to the elbow - and then on to the point you want the cuff to finish at your wrist or hand.
    • Note: our Gansey is made from completely natural fibres and as such there can be a slight variation in size (plus or minus 0.5 of an inch or 1.5 cms)

    How does Pay later work? Once your order's confirmed, you'll receive an email with payment instructions within two days from Klarna.     How does Pay later in 3 work? Pay later in 3 will allow you to spread the cost of your purchase over 3 equal payments. The payment for each instalment will automatically be collected from the debit or credit card you entered at checkout. Your first instalment will be collected when your order is confirmed by Blackshore and instalments 2 and 3 are scheduled 30 and 60 days later, respectively.

    Am I eligible for Pay later? To use Pay later or Pay later in 3 you must be at least 18. Whilst this option is widely promoted, Pay later and Pay later in 3 are subject to your financial circumstances. When choosing Pay later and  Pay later in 3, our assessment will not affect your credit rating.

    What do I need to provide when I make a purchase? If you want to make a purchase with Klarna, you'll need to provide your mobile phone number and your email address. The mobile number is required in case we need to reach you. All statements will be sent to your email address. It's very important that you give us the correct details, as otherwise you will not receive the payment information and so will be liable for delayed payment fees.

    Will a credit search take place against me? If you choose Pay later, Klarna will assess your creditworthiness: using so-called unrecorded enquiries (or soft credit searches) that do not affect credit scoring and are only visible to you and Klarna, but not visible to other lenders. Neither Klarna nor Blackshore run credit searches against you that could impact your credit rating. Please see Klarna’s Privacy Notice for a full description of how Klarna handles your personal data.

    Why have I not been offered Pay later? Although Pay later is widely promoted it is not always universally available. The Pay later method is automatically generated by algorithms that are dependent upon a number of factors including amount of order, the online store, previous order history and item availability. Alternatively, you are able to complete your order by paying by credit or debit card at the checkout.

    What are my payment options with Klarna? You can pay with debit or credit card immediately in the checkout or take advantage of our Pay later payment option, where you can pay for the goods once you have received them via credit card or debit card. What happens if I cancel or return my order? As soon as Blackshore have accepted your cancellation/return, then Klarna will cancel the statement or refund your payment.

    What happens if I don’t pay for my order? Payment is due 30 days after the item is shipped. To help you pay on time, we'll alert you two days before payment is due – you'll receive email reminders to pay – and, if very late, we’ll also send you a text or letter, too. If you fail to pay Klarna for your order, your credit score will be affected.

    I have been asked to go to Klarna's site. Is this correct? If you have chosen to Pay later, Klarna will send you an email with further details on how to pay. Your email will contain a link to Klarna where you can settle your payment with your credit or debit card.

    What do I need to provide when I make a purchase? If you want to make a purchase with Klarna you need to provide your name, address and email address. For some orders you may need to provide your mobile number or date of birth, too. All information will be sent to your email address, including payment reminders and links to your online statements. It's very important, that you give us the correct details, as otherwise you will not receive the payment information.

    Is my payment information safe? Payment information is processed securely by Klarna. No card details are transferred to or held by Blackshore. All transactions take place via connections secured with the latest industry standard security protocols.

    Can I pay before the due date? You can pay for your Pay later order at any point after you receive the email from Klarna with the details of your payment on. Just follow the instructions on this email to pay for your order. It is not currently possible to pay earlier for Pay later in 3 purchases.

    Have you received my payment? If you pay by card, Blackshore will confirm your order right away. If paying by Pay later, Klarna will send you a payment confirmation to the email address that you have used for your order. If you have made a payment but not received the payment confirmation, you can always check the status of your order and payments by logging in at www.klarna.com.

    What happens to my statement, when I've returned the goods? Once Blackshore has received the return (partial or full) and you have received their confirmation of this, an updated statement will be sent to you by Klarna if you've made a partial return. With a full return, your statement will be closed.

    I've received a statement, but I've not yet received my goods. You have 30 days to pay, so you don’t need to pay right away. If your due date is near and there is no sign of your goods, please call Blackshore to check on delivery. You can also contact Klarna’s Customer Service so that we can postpone the due date on your payment.

    I have cancelled my order. How long will it take until I receive my refund? As soon as the store has registered your cancellation or your return, the refund will be processed within 5 business days.

    I have asked for a refund. How will I be refunded? If you have paid for your order with card, the refund will be made back to the same card. If you have not paid the statement yet, then the refund will reduce the statement or cancel it completely.

    I haven’t received an email with my statement/payment information. If you do not have your statement number to hand you can log in at www.klarna.com/uk, where you will find all of your orders and be able to make payments.

    What does our offer of a 'Lifetime Repair' mean for your Blackshore purchases?

    It doesn’t mean that Blackshore clothes will stay looking like new forever: every piece of clothing weathers and wears each time it’s worn. However, what it does offer is the peace of mind that if, after years of frequent use, your Blackshore clothing tears, rips, or comes apart at the seams, we’ll fix it for you free of charge.

    Our manufacturing team offer high quality ‘visible repairs’ for every Blackshore garment, regardless of its age, at no cost to you. Much like restoring an old building we think this adds to the character of the item and sets it apart from others sold from our collection.

    Just throw us a line via the contact page detailing what you’d like us to repair, and then send the item, along with your name and a return address, to our HQ in Southwold. We’ll fix it up and return the item back to you free of charge.

    We offer free repairs on all Blackshore clothing regardless of its age.

    Our repairs are limited to items that have ripped, been torn, worn through at the knee or elbow, or come apart at the seams. We can even darn or repair holes in knitwear, and restitch at the seams: but again, please remember our repairs are 'visible'. We like to think of them as badges of honour of a garment well worn.

    We do not launder items sent to us for repair and as such are unable to remove stains. Unfortunately we cannot repair heat damage.

    Please note that we do ask that you wash your item before you send it to us.

    Please send your garment via a carrier that can provide tracking and insurance.

    We will return all items free of charge to addresses within the United Kingdom. If you plan to send your item for repair from any other location please contact us for return shipping costs. This will be charged to you ‘at cost’, at the rate provided to us by our shipping service.

    We want your Blackshore clothes to last as long as the harbour that inspired their design, and much like The Blackshore which has required numerous repairs throughout its lifetime, with a little help your Blackshore clothes will stand the test of time.

    Sending your Blackshore items for repair does not affect your rights as a consumer. If you believe you have received a faulty garment please contact us via email simon@blackshore.cc.

    MAKING TO ORDER

    We make clothes the old way, slowly. And in most cases we make to order. So there may be a wait for your Blackshore order to be delivered. Waiting times for made-to-order garments can be as little as a week, but can be six to eight weeks for certain items.

    Stock items are shipped next working day.

    We will give a delivery time estimate when you place your order. Good things are worth waiting for aren't they?

    PAYMENT OPTIONS

    We accept payment via all major debit cards, credit cards, and via Apple Pay, Amazon Payments, and PayPal. We do not currently accept payments via Solo, Electron, or Diners Club.

    DELIVERY OPTIONS

    All of our UK deliveries are made using Royal Mail Signed For™ service and include delivery to Northern Ireland & the Channel Islands.

    Overseas deliveries are also made using Royal Mail Signed For™ service.
    • Standard service for the rest of the world - 10 to 14 working days - £15.00

    Please note that shipping charges are added automatically at checkout based on your delivery address.

    If your order is being shipped outside the European Union (EU), customs charges and taxes may apply that you will need to pay directly prior to delivery. Please check these requirements with the relevant authority before placing an order.


    RETURNS & EXCHANGE

    If you need to return or exchange any item within your order please do so within 30 days of the delivery date. If you would like to return an item outside of the specified 30 day returns period you must contact our customer service team in advance or the item could be automatically returned to you.

    To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

    To complete your return, we require an order number, receipt, or proof of purchase.


    RETURNS CONDITION

    All products must be returned in an unused condition. This means the product and its packaging, labels and tags are undamaged and unused. We will not accept worn, damaged, altered or used goods. We reserve the right to reduce the amount of monies refunded (up to the value of the contract price) where the value of the product is diminished from your handling, which goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.


    REFUNDS 

    Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you when your refund has been approved.

    Once approved your refund will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied via your original method of payment. Refunds will be processed within 7 days of approval.


    LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS 

    If you haven’t received a refund within 14 days of receiving an approval notification please check pending transactions with your bank or credit card provider.

    If you’ve done this and you still have not received your refund please send details of your order number and shipping address to info@blackshore.cc.


    EXCHANGES 

    To request an exchange please complete the form provided within your delivery and return it with the item(s) you would like to receive in an alternative colour or size.

     

    GIFTS

    If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received by us, a gift certificate will be emailed to you.

    If you received a Blackshore product as a gift and would like to exchange for an alternative size or style, we would be happy to do this as long as the item is in an unused condition. Please contact info@blackshore.cc with further details regarding your request.


    RETURN SHIPPING

    Please be aware that return shipping costs are not covered by Blackshore and proof of posting by a trackable service may be required if the item is not delivered back to Blackshore HQ.

    Depending on where you live, the time taken to receive and exchange your items may vary.
