The Blackshore journey continues...

The Blackshore journey continues...

Two years ago Blackshore was just an idea.

18 months ago the business was almost killed off after being scammed by an international organised crime racket.

Three months ago we moved to a new strategy: to manufacture ourselves, in our own workshop.

About six weeks ago Blackshore took occupancy of a former fishing net factory in the old beach fishing village area of Lowestoft.

Four weeks ago we had our sewing machines installed, and our first machinist arrived.

Three weeks ago we received our first orders for sewn products.

Two weeks ago production began in our Lowestoft factory on our range of coastal-inspired menswear and accessories. Meanwhile we are supporting family knitwear factories too, both in the heart of England and in the Channel Isles.

A week ago we were approached by three different companies asking if we could manufacture for them too!

And as we come towards the end of this week we are confident that we can create not only a world-class made-in-Britain brand, but at the same time make sustainable clothes to last a lifetime, and – importantly – contribute to the Lowestoft community by creating meaningful jobs and a creative hub in the old town area.

Thanks to all who have helped so much, so far.

What we need now is investment from a business angel who believes, as we do, that good business can be made from making in Britain.

Keep ordering, keep sharing the news! Thank you.

Great journey so far, business isn’t easy as we all know, but you are doiung your bit, the products look great and here’s to the future. Nice brand and narrative as well – a subject close to my heart
